People Hate Pop-Ups

What a shocker, Jakob Nielsen discovers that web surfers hate pop-ups and other irritating ads. It would seem that supply and demand would take care of the problem, but somebody must be clicking on the ads because they just won't go away.
One choice user comment from the article regarding an audio ad: "IF ANYTHING COULD BE WORSE THAN POP-UPS, THIS IS IT. I HATE THIS AD. HATE HATE HATE." My feelings exactly.
