Paris Hilton Made Me Change my Number

While the whole Paris Hilton Sidekick hack is amusing, it's also demonstrative of how dumbing-down security for the sake of making products easier to use has its pitfalls. Now it turns out that by simply faking your caller ID, you can access the voice mail of phone users who have enabled "auto voicemail login". This is the feature that allows you to access your voice mail from your own phone without having to enter your PIN. Oh, and the original Paris address book hack came about due to a poorly chosen password. [watch out for the links — this is Paris Hilton we're talking about, so they are mostly not safe for work].
The real question to arise from all of this is "who in the hell wants to call Victoria Gotti?" Based on the 30 seconds I've seen of her — a promo advertising her show "Growing Up Gotti" — I think she has to rank among the most unpleasant people on the planet.
